If you're here for the DIY, it's below photos.
I must say that for the past couple of days I haven't been the most cheerful person under the sun. Those who know me know that I'm self-employed and I love the fact that I can work from home and have flexible hours. Besides, my boss can be pretty cool too from time to time. The downside is that I've completely forgotten the meaning of the word INCOME, not because of the lack of work, but because some assholes think that I'm more than happy to work for free for months at a time.
I hate it when people say that we're all in the same boat, that times are hard for everyone. Yeah, well ... I disagree, not everybody works for free. I can't imagine that Nicki Minaj goes on stage, sings for 2 hours, then goes back to her trailer filled with white candles, only green M&M's, baby ponies spray-painted pink or with whatever she's into and waits for the organizer to come in and say: "Nicki, listen, I don't have any money right now to pay you, I'll try and get you some by the end of next month. Times are hard for everybody, you know." No. She gets her money. And I bet you her hourly rate is higher than mine, a lot higher.
I could've just as easily spoken about Madonna, Swedish House Mafia, Ludacris, Amancio Ortega, Stefan Persson, Sergey Brin, Lionel Messi ... but since I mentioned Miss Minaj, let me touch upon another diva whose booty is just as big as her bank account and thus isn't anywhere near our sinking boat - Beyonce. True or false? Beyonce charges 1.200 dollars per VIP ticket for her show. That would be 100 % true. That's ONE THOUSAND AND TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS. Not peanuts. Not empty Pepsi cans. Dollars. Is that bi...pedal creature serious? Somebody needs a reality check. Whereas I just need a frigging check, period.
That's why I decided to make these F U earrings to put my anger to some use. This is my message to the economy, to all of the people who owe me money and to people who say that times are hard for everybody - F U.
If you want to make similar statement earrings yourself, you can get the tutorial here, it's pretty much the same.
This time, I used a cutting board and a utility knife. Make sure your board is clean and it doesn't smell of garlic (unless you want your statement to be I don't like vampires).
Cut out a shape, completely cover it with a thick layer of glue and sprinkle glitter dust all over. Wait till it dries and then spray it with some hairspray so none of the glitter will fall off.
Cut out an outline of that shape (this is where the cutting board and the utility knife come in handy) and glue the outline on the glitterified shape.
You can make other letters or shapes just as easily and sprinkle them with glitter dust in different colors (a heart and a U, two ladybugs, strawberries, etc.).
Thanks for reading! See you back on Friday and again next Monday and Wednesday.
