All This Travelling Is Hard Work

We've started our trip on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. and arrived at our San Francsco hostel on Thursday at 12:00 a.m., but we changed a few time zones so we'd been traveling for over 30 hours and during that time were in a car, 3 different trains, 3 different planes, at 5 different airports and 4 four major cities - Venice, London, New York and finally San Francisco. Talk about jet set, right? No, talk about jet lag.
There's no rest for the weary and there certainly wasn't plenty of rest for us, so we have already something to show for all the hubub. Besides, who needs rest when you fly accros the Atlantic ocean with Virgin Atlantic - you get you own sleeping mask, blanket, slippers and ear plugs, they serve fruit cocktails with vodka, a hot meal with salad, dessert and another drink, a snack (sandwich and a muffin) and coffee, you have 49 movies to watch for free to choose from and all of the flight attendants are at least cute if not hot. I drank my cocktail, ate my stake with potatoes, carrots and pees, chocolate mousse and banana muffin, watched Hitchcock, Lincoln and Skyfall and now I'm about to go do some San Fran site seeing for the second day - I really can't complain, can I?

P.S.: You can see my partner in crime in two of the shots and me in none of them and I couldn't be happier.

This is on my bunk bed at the hostel - who has the money to buy a Ralph Lauren shirt and sleeps in a hoste??

You're more than welcome to follow FPS via Twitter and to come back next week, to see what's new. I'll try to stick to my regular posting days, which are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, so come back to see if I kept my promise.

  6. Lucky you. I live in LA and haven't made it to San Fran yet! With the traveling: take a shit load of emergen-c and vitamins and what not, so you're tired ass doesn't get sick!!! Also, I LOVE virgin and quite frankly hate flying with any other airline.

  14. I haven't flown a whole lot but even a five or six hour flight can give me jet lag - and taking a "red-eye+ flight going East instead of West made me doubly sleep-deprived (I've never managed to sleep on a plane). At least (apparently) you got to fly First Class on Virgin Atlantic - it sounds like a very nice flight. All of those major cities must be fun to visit if you have a clue where to go or what to see (I don't). Your photographs are great. I wonder if that was the Snake River looking out the plane window? I'm surprised at how clean the city of San Francisco looks in your photos. I've never been there but it would be nice. Love that red hair.

  18. Sooo jealous. Sounds like you got off to a great start, right from the outset on Virgin!

Your photos look amazing - really professional, just answer when you can, but what camera do you use? I may need to invest in a new one!

  21. I'm dying of envy.
This four words will be the start for all my comments, because yes, I will comment all posts.
What a crazy trip! I don't want to 30 hours of life when i'll travel to NewYork... it would be cruel.

I love (seriously) I LOVE the photos! I will say it again: what an envy!!! That with san francisco's bridge in the background ... It's great. And the plane, the university, the spider ... Everything.

I'm afraid to continue reading the next posts =)
