The Final Stretch

I don't have any (clever) ideas at the moment, since my brain is in dire need of a vacation, so these photos'll have to do for today.

A cell in Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia.

Al Capone's cell.

Hospital ward.

Finally, New York, our last stop.

9/11 memorial.

You may think this is NYC's biggest attraction, but it's not...

It's this.

Don't forget to follow FPS via Twitter and you are more than welcome to come by again next week. Posting days are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays so hopefully this isn't your last time here!

  1. Handsome police officers are great tourist attractions ;) Ah, NYC is my favourite place to visit. Love the shots you took! Hope you're enjoying yourself :)

  2. Whaaaat?! You went to Eastern State Penitentiary?? I am SO jealous right now! It's one of the most haunted places in the USA and as a ghost story freak I would love to go there too one day! Awesome!!!

    1. The most haunted? They didn't say that actually, there are some stories but nothing too spooky.:) There's an old hospital in Luisville that's the most haunted place in the States. I didn't go there. I'm too much of a chicken.:)

  3. I love the picture of the hospital ward, great shot!

    ♥ ♥

  4. wow your pics of the penitenciary are pretty cool (as weird as that might sound). Like your last attraction ^^

    1. Penitentiary was cool, it really was. Probably my favorite thing we saw!

  5. What amazing vacation photos! I so want to visit New York one day! Looks so amazing! Those cells look so creepy!

  6. The first pictures are so interesting. Great shoots.

  7. These are some cute photos! And when I was in NY I did notice a lot of good looking cops (; Also I didn't know there was a memorial for Titanic on the East coast!

  8. Beautiful pictures! So special places...

  9. I love that you visited the Statue of Liberty (a gift to the newly formed United States by France) and took photos in front of it. Liberty is so precious - yet one of the first things that popped into my head when I saw the photo was the appearance of the top of the Statue of Liberty in the movie "Planet Of The Apes". I hope we aren't headed there.

I was disturbed by the sight of police carrying machine guns. Our Constitution prohibits "standing armies", and it doesn't seem appropriate at all to me since this is not a war zone. There should be less of that and more cleaning up of bird poop. The photo of the cell in Eastern State Penitentiary in Phildelphia gave me the chills. Many people still don't know that the United States imprisons more of its citizens than any other country in the world by far. So what's with all the rhetoric about a "free country"? Maybe it's because the freedoms are promised but the people are brainwashed into thinking it's the rights of criminals and don't realize that it's their own rights that are at risk. It's also true that their are very friendly police officers (I'm glad you met some).

I'm glad you made it to Manhattan (the "Big Apple". There's so much to do and see there and every kind of cuisine you can imagine.

I hope you enjoy your time here in New York (Iive East of there on Long Island). Happy touring:)

  10. It looks like quite the trip! I've been to those cities, but I didn't get a chance to go to the Statue of Liberty or see the Penitentiary. It looks like a great and exhausting trip!

    1. You are correct, my dear. It has been exhausting.:)

  11. Gorgeous pictures.

  12. The hospital ward shot MAY be one of the coolest shots I've ever seen. Also, fuck the cops.

  13. Your pics in Penitentiary are really nice! My boyfriend would love to see the Al Capone's cell.
And i love the hospital photos too! the first is awesome .
And i've found very weird and creepy the police walking around with huge guns...

    I LOVE NY!!
