You Are What You Eat

In case you're new here and you don't know this yet, I've been on a 6-week road trip across the States with a friend of mine and this Wednesday is the end of week 5, so we only have 7 more days to go and we'll spend them in New York City.
I already gave some data on this and that, but I guess I haven't said much about my eating habits here. In a sentence: They're shit. Trust me, the one sentence given suffices, but I'll give you a couple of menu examples nonetheless, just for the fun of it (water intake isn't included - there's no fun in water).

Day One:
  • a medium caramel macchiato at Starbucks
  • a burrito with shredded beef smothered in chipotle sauce and sour cream, a taco and 0,5 l of pink lemonade at Taco Bell
  • a Snickers bar
  • a tuna sandwich

Day Two:
  • 2 scrambled eggs, a bagel with gravy, baked potatoes, 2 slices of bacon and 0,5 l of coffee with 7-10 creamers
  • half a box of Milk Duds
  • half a pack of Oreos
  • 0,5 l of Starbucks iced coffee
  • 0,5 l of Pepsi
  • an egg sandwich

Day Three:
  • a large decaf (when I remember I don't even drink coffee) caramel macchiato with extra caramel (to spice things up a bit) at Starbucks
  • a chicken burger with French fries and 0,5 l of fruit punch at Burger King
  • half a bag of tortilla chips with hot red sauce and nacho
  • 3 beers

Day Four
  • I think you've got the point.

After about two weeks of eating like this, I started to feel queasy after lunch (if you can call some fried shit with a side of some other fried shit lunch) and I had no idea why (I know, I'm the incarnation of Sherlock). Then I remembered: Some 2 months ago I had my gallbladder taken out and all the fried goodness wasn't agreeing with my gallbladder, or better yet with the lack of it. Now I try to avoid French fries and deep fried chicken patties. As for burritos smothered in hot red sauce - bring on the heat! A girl's gotta have some fun, right?

Feel free to follow FPS via Twitter and do come back this Friday to see what's new. Posting days are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays - till then then.

  1. Hahaha OMG what a diet! No salads on the menus LOL! That's what happens when you vacation - fried foods and caffeine inevitably becomes your new BFF

  3. Ugh. I can't imagine eating like that for 2 weeks. Especially with no gallbladder! I hope you still had a good trip though!

  8. Girl! You need to take care of yourself! I'm on a strict "no preservatives" diet for my IC and I would be royally fucked if I went on a road trip. You're brave.

  9. Yeah you're right - you've been eating shite lol. But to be fair most people do when they go on holiday, it's just that because you have been away for so long, it makes it worse because you are eating junk for longer than 1-2 weeks.I cant imagine how you must be feeling and I bet you cant find a salad anywhere! Maybe all the walking around will offset some of the bad nutrition.

Have a great time in New York babes - so jealous! I say that every time don't I!
