From His Closet #5

You know the expression 'Christmas came twice this year'? Well, I can't say anything about Christmas yet, but Halloween is definitely making its second appearance. Please don't be freaked out by this, it's all in line with the title and the post series, because ... drum roll please ... everything I'm wearing is in fact from my boyfriend's closet. He wore this outfit some 12 years ago, when I wore something completely different, but you'll have to come by next time on Wednesday to see that, so let's get on with today's post.
Yup. Everything is his. The shirt, the bracelet, the jeans, the shoes, the whole deal. He sure didn't listen to Limp Bizkit or Papa Roach when he was in high school like I did... But I gotta give it to him, he DESIGNED the shirt HIMSELF and then had it made by his mom. Notice the asymmetric hemline on the sleeve? Yup. That's all his. Notice the extra flare on the jeans? I think he puts even Rachel Zoe to shame with those, there's no competition, she can just run and hide - under those denim tents. And the shoes... He wanted these so much, he actually bought them 2 sizes too big because they didn't have them in his size. Now that's dedication for you!
Although he retired the jeans and the shoes a long time ago, the shirt was kept in rotation for a few more years and he actually wore it the first time we went out 7 years and 9 months ago - we went to a party at our cathedral of luxury colors so it made sense, I promise. Luckily he left those Buffalo raving rave monsters all ravers rave about* at home because otherwise I wouldn't be able to make out with him, I'd have to french his bellybutton, because that's all I'd be able to reach. Now I wear heels and he doesn't anymore - thank god - so everything evens out beautifully.

      * He said I HAVE TO use the word 'rave' in the post, so I did him a favor or four - aren't I a good girlfriend?? - as well as give him a little vocabulary lesson.

  11. Haha how awesome! I remember this raver look trend - you even had to wear these pants and Buffalos when you were not a raver actually. What's missing is the choker necklace with colourful plastic beads ;)

    1. He actually didn't wear those necklaces, but one of his best friends did. He walked around looking like a Christmas tree - he actually made a necklace out of huge electric blue Christmas tree ornaments.:D

  13. it was so much fun reading the back story of this outfit! :) I think I have bought a lot of shoes that are either a size too big or too small, never have bought anything 2 sizes bigger though! :D And that is so cool he designed that shirt for himself, there are not a lot of guys who would do that! :D
Anyways such fun post, I really, really liked it!

  14. Flares are my favourite type of jeans and these are kinda cool because they are a wide flare. I think it's so cute that your boyfriend thinks it's cool to wear his clothes and post it publicly ha. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when you are discussing your post with him. Oh I cant forget those shoes, I must admit I am shoeaholic but I don't think I could go that far to buy shoes that are too big for me. Sounds like he loves his fashion, give him a high five!

Yep, love my pork belly - one of my favourite meats, shame it's not the healthiest meat!
Your comment made me chuckle. I see you are as heated as me by the super-blogger - I was nodding after every one of your sentences LOL

  15. Peet, you have to admit he was very creative to have designed the shirt by himself, it is so cool!:) You made me smile about the flare jeans, I used to wear them too when I was a teeny and always wear them:D The shoes are so crazy!! You rock dear, I always forget to tell you how much love your piercings!:) Hope you too are having a nice week, many kisses! xo

  17. Wow. The fact that this outfit belonged completely to your boyfriend gives it even more impact, I think - although that blue lipstick doesn't hurt. I don't know how you pull this all off, and yet somehow it works, which is no small feat. I can't wait to see what you were wearing while your boyfriend wore this!

I remember wearing bell-bottoms and shirts like that when I was 13 more or less.
The worst thing is that I listened to Led Zeppelin and that stuff at the same time.

The sneakers are a masterpiece. seriously XD
